OUR NAME
The group has taken the name Vexilla Regis, meaning “standards of the King”, referring to our unconditional service, loyalty, and devotion to the Kingship of Jesus Christ. This familiar Latin term is in the first stanza of a hymn with the same name which is sung during Holy Week and other feasts of the Holy Cross:
Vexilla regis prodeunt,
Fulget crucis mysterium,
Qua vita mortem pertulit
Et morta vitam protulit.
Abroad the royal standards fly,
And bear the gleaming Cross on high,
That Cross whereon Life suffered death
And gave us life with dying breath.
The Vexilla Regis Association is a group of Catholic gentlemen from across the country dedicated to honoring Christ the King.
May Jesus Christ be praised....forever and ever. Amen!
PUBLIC ROSARIES
With this initiative, our goal is to promote devotion to Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is Christ the King.
INTERIOR LIFE
The primary purpose of each member is to cultivate a deep and fervent interior life. It is impossible to succeed at anything based on our own efforts and talents. If we wish to accomplish anything worthwhile, we must first humble ourselves and strive to build a sound foundation based upon prayer, meditation, and conformity to the Will of God.
SUPPORT LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
The Vexilla Regis Association supports local Law Enforcement in their often thankless and dangerous task of policing our streets in order to keep our communities safe. Their discretion on how to enforce the various laws of the nation, state, county, and local community requires great wisdom and courage to do what is right, regardless of what the politicians and media may say. We pray for them that they may judiciously wield their power to administer justice or show mercy.
JUST LAWS AND GOVERNMENT
The men of the Vexilla Regis Association cultivate a deep love for The United States of America. Our patriotism is not based on emotion but rather the virtue of Piety. We believe that she is a great nation under the protection of Our Lady’s title of the Immaculate Conception.
We strive to help introduce and pass constitutional amendments and just laws that support the divine laws of Christ the King.
We also hope to educate others, especially young adults, about the sole source of legitimate authority and the deceits of the Devil that are found under the various names of fascism, communism, socialism, and democratic socialism.
SOUL OF THE APOSTOLATE
As part of the spiritual exercises being undertaken, we are reading the book The Soul of the Apostolate by Jean-Baptiste Chautard, O.C.S.O.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please join us in the following spiritual exercises each day:
Say 9 Our Father’s with a special emphasis on “Thy Will be done”.
Say 9 prayers to Saint Michael the Archangel. This is a special prayer of exorcism in the Catholic Church.
Make at least one spiritual communion each day. There is no limit to the number you can make, so be generous.
An Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that Thou art present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love Thee above all things, and I desire to receive Thee in my soul. Since I cannot now receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though thou wert already there, I embrace Thee and unite myself wholly to Thee; permit not that I should ever be separated from Thee. Amen
A Shorter Act
O Jesus, I believe that Thou art in the Most Blessed Sacrament! Come into my heart. I embrace Thee; oh, never leave me!
From the Raccolta: Indulgences
To they who make an act of spiritual Communion, using any formula they may choose, there is granted:
An indulgence of 3 years;
A plenary indulgence once a month on the usual conditions when the act is performed every day of the month (S. P. Ap., Mar. 7, 1927 and Feb. 25, 1933).
